Workspace billing lets workspace administrators manage their organization's credit balance, payment methods, and automatic top-up settings. Credits cover AI usage (LLM token costs) and tool execution costs across the workspace.
Who can manage billing
- Workspace administrators only. Members and viewers cannot access billing settings.
What administrators can do
- View the workspace's current credit balance, reserved funds, and available funds
- Add credits using a saved payment method
- Set up and configure automatic top-ups (minimum balance or monthly)
- Add or replace a payment method (credit card)
- View past invoices
What administrators cannot do
- Change the workspace's billing plan or pricing policy (this is managed at the platform level)
- Exceed the per-transaction credit purchase limit of $10,000
- Purchase credits without a saved payment method
How billing works
Every workspace has a credit balance denominated in US dollars. When workspace members use AI features (sending messages, running tools), the system reserves credits from the balance before processing. Once the operation completes, the actual cost is settled and any excess reservation is released back to the available balance.
Administrators can add credits manually or configure automatic top-ups to keep the balance funded. Two automatic top-up modes are available: minimum balance mode (adds credits when the balance drops below a threshold) and monthly mode (adds a fixed amount each month). A payment method must be saved before credits can be purchased or automatic top-ups can run.
