Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions related to MCP servers.

The "New Server" button is grayed out

You have no tools available in your workspace. You need at least one tool before you can create an MCP server. Ask your workspace administrator to add tools, or create your own.

The "Create Server" button is grayed out in the dialog

You have not entered a name or selected any tools. Both a name and at least one selected tool are required. Enter a server name and check the box next to one or more tools, then try again.

The authorization page says "You do not have access to this MCP server"

You are signed in with a different account than the one that created the server. Only the workspace member who created the server can authorize client connections. Sign out, then sign back in with the account that owns the server.

The authorization page says "This authorization request expired"

The authorization flow took too long to complete. Authorization requests expire after 10 minutes. Return to your AI client and initiate the connection again. When the authorization page opens, approve or deny promptly.

The authorization page says "The authorization request is invalid"

The client sent a malformed or incomplete request. This usually indicates a configuration issue in the AI client. Verify the server URL is entered correctly in the client. If the problem persists, the client application may need an update.

The authorization page says "The application redirect URL is no longer valid"

The application's registered callback address does not match what it sent. This can happen if the application was updated or reconfigured. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the MCP server in your client application. If the issue persists, contact the application developer.

My AI client says the token was rejected or expired

The access token expired and could not be refreshed. This can happen if the server was revoked, your workspace membership changed, or the refresh token expired (after 30 days of inactivity). Remove the server from your client and add it again using the server URL, then re-authorize.

I revoked a server but the client is still making requests

Token revocation takes effect immediately, but some clients cache responses. The client should receive an authentication error on its next request. If requests continue, check that you revoked the correct server by verifying the server no longer appears in your MCP Servers list.

The server URL is not working

The server may have been revoked, or the URL was copied incorrectly. Navigate to Settings > MCP Servers and confirm the server still exists. Click the server URL to copy it again and re-enter it in your client. If the server is not in the list, it has been revoked and you need to create a new one.

I see "Failed to create server" when trying to create a server

The server could not be saved. This is typically a temporary issue. Wait a moment and try again. If the error persists, check your network connection and try refreshing the page.
